VALDUR – street luminaire in SMC composite
A corrosion-free street luminaire with a housing in glass-fibre-reinforced SMC thermoset composite. Six power steps, Philips/Signify electronics and LEDiL optics — for coastal, urban and industrial environments. This page gives an overview and explains the material concept — and links onward to the configurator for models, optics, controls, technical specifications and E-numbers.
One luminaire platform, six power steps.
VALDUR is an LED street luminaire whose housing is made from glass-fibre-reinforced SMC thermoset composite — a material that is corrosion-free by nature, electrically insulating and UV-stable. No paint that ages, no coating that can flake off.
The electronics are from Philips/Signify (Xitanium drivers and Fortimo FastFlex LED modules) and the optics from LEDiL. All six power steps share the same housing and mounting — what differs is power, luminous flux, optics, colour temperature and controls.
Key benefits
Corrosion-free housing
SMC composite is not broken down by salt, UV or chemicals.
Low weight, 3.5–5.1 kg
About 40% lighter than die-cast aluminium. Easier installation.
Long service life
Electronics rated for >100,000 h (L90/B10).
Smart- & IoT-ready
Radio-transparent housing. Zhaga Book 18, DALI-2 and D4i.
VALDUR 10–100
The luminous flux and power figures below are for 4000 K with LEDiL STRADA optics. 3000 K and 1900 K Amber have their own values — see the E-number tables.
| Model | Power | Luminous flux | Efficacy | Current | Rec. mounting height | Cable |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| VALDUR 10 | 12.0 W | 1,832 lm | 152.7 lm/W | 220 mA | 4–5 m | 6 m |
| VALDUR 20 | 15.5 W | 2,443 lm | 157.5 lm/W | 294 mA | 4–6 m | 6 m |
| VALDUR 30 | 22.5 W | 3,946 lm | 175.9 lm/W | 295 mA | 5–7 m | 8 m |
| VALDUR 40 | 33.3 W | 5,669 lm | 170.0 lm/W | 447 mA | 6–8 m | 8 m |
| VALDUR 60 | 45.6 W | 7,472 lm | 163.7 lm/W | 398 mA | 7–9 m | 8 m |
| VALDUR 100 | 63.8 W | 10,147 lm | 159.9 lm/W | 574 mA | 8–10 m | 10 m |
Mounting height is indicative — the exact height depends on pole spacing, road width, optics and lighting class. Want the exact figure for your installation? Contact us and we will help with a lighting calculation. Cable is pre-fitted — any length can be special-ordered. VALDUR 100: 63.8 W at 4000 K / 65.8 W at 3000 K. Full configuration in the product configurator.
Technical specifications
The housing is compression-moulded in SMC thermoset composite under high pressure. The glass fibres are embedded in a polymer matrix that cross-links into a permanent, dimensionally stable structure — the material does not soften with heat and does not corrode. A patent-pending integrated heat-dissipation system keeps the operating temperature stable.
Fasteners are in 316 stainless steel (marine grade) and the cover is 4 mm tempered glass. More detail under Materials.
